How pricey you ask? Try $6500. Yes six thousand five hundred dollars. For that price you get:
Unique Track-inspired Springs and Sway Bar
Unique Rear Spoiler• Unique Track-inspired Chassis, Stability Control, EPAS, and ABS Tuning
Strut Tower Brace• TORSEN® Differential with 3.73 Axle Ratio
Large Radiator• MagneRide® Damping System with Track Inspired Calibration
High Performance Front Splitter• K-Brace
“Engine Spun” Aluminum Instrument Panel• Gauge Pack (Vacuum and Oil Pressure)
305/30/R19 Michelin® Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires (Summer Only)• Brembo™ Six Piston Front Brake Calipers w/Larger Rotors
9-inch x 10.5-inch (F) / 19-inch x 11-inch (R) Dark Tarnish Stainless-painted Aluminum Wheels
That means a loaded GT Premium with everything from Recaro, MagnaRide suspension, active exhaust etc wil be nearly 53 grand. Adding it also requires Package 401A for a total price change of $8700. That means just adding the Level 2 Package to a no optioned GT (non premium) changes the price from $36 grand to $45,500. Let me reiterate that: that’s for a base GT with no other options than the Level 2 package and 401A. Try like hell to bring the price down at the dealer or get incentives.
Oh and you can only get this package on GT Fastbacks, no convertibles or Ecoboost Fastback or Convertible.

CP. I love the Mustang as it’s a dream car of mine, but current prices are absurd ($60k for a loaded GT model in Canada) and it doesn’t look that great.

Not to mention they depreciate but then hold their value. That 55k GT is going to be worth maybe 30 in 2 years time.

Probably. Still holding out for a 2007/2008 Bullitt or a 2012 302.

You can get a ‘15 S550 GT for 23 if you look hard enough.

The GT Performance Pack 1 is $3995. The Performance Pack 2 adds the shocks, springs, sway bars, wider wheels & tires, aero bits, and MagneRide.
You can add the Performance Pack 1 without going up to the 301A (GT) or 401A (GT Premium) equipment level, but for either trim if you select 301A or 401A anyway, you’re basically paying an extra $2505 for the upgrades above.

That much money for a worse looking car (Than the 2015)? Nope

Um wasn’t the 2012 Boss only a $6,000 increase over the base GT that year? I am pretty sure it was. Maybe I am wrong.

At that point, who wouldn’t buy a GT350 instead?

That sounds about right. But those options add up quick.

$6,435 to be exact. MSRP on a ‘12 Boss was $40,145. MSRP for a ‘12 GT Premium was $33,710.

Right? A fully loaded GT with most options is $5365 bucks off a no options GT350.

If that isn’t a great example of how expensive the Mustang has gotten recently I don’t know what is. Price has increased a significant amount in the past five years.

$53k!?!?! Is that right? Seems crazy for a GT.
A well equipped Camaro SS 1LE is almost $4k less and already comes with all that stuff. Not to mention the 650hp ZL1 is ~$8k more.

Yep. The Camaro is cheaper enough that you can add luxury options like a moonroof. I priced out a Camaro 2SS with the 1LE pack and a moonroof and still came out over 4 grand cheaper.

Why are you talking about a fully loaded one? Fully loaded anything is expensive, and if you just care about performance (enough to get a PP2, at least), you don’t need all that stuff.
If you get the most basic PP2 you can, which is still really well equipped, it’s $44,590. The most basic SS 1LE you can get is $44,995. They’re right on top of each other for the same sort of equipment. That seems reasonable, for both.

Yea I know, which is why I mentioned the non Premium base GT as well, which is pretty much 46 grand.
But you’re right, they are on top of each other if you get a base GT or base SS. But I don’t think its reasonable. That’s a lot of coin for either one no matter their performance. There should be enough dealer discounts out there though to bring that price down under 40.

I don’t know what you expect it to cost. When an M4 starts near $70k, the ability to get a car that outperforms it for $45k doesn’t seem insane.

Yea its one of the best bang for your bucks out there. But to the Mustang and muscle car faithful, its an unfortunate reality now that you really do have to pay if you want to play. And a lot of people cant swallow that.

what a waste, I bet that if they put that in the boostang, and added a piggyback tune, it’d be way quicker than the GT

A base GT with PP2 is still right in line with the 1LE, which I already thought was pricey, but it’s not insane. My problem is wondering why anybody would buy a loaded GT PP2 over a GT350 or even a friggin’ C7.
Would be an interesting read to see how the GT PP2 stacks up against both a GT350 and base C7.

Exactly. Why would you? You would have to really want a Mustang to get a loaded GT with the PP2. I wouldn’t do it.
